Research Advisory Committe (RAC) Process

The intent of this documentation is to standardize processing of requests for research data and/or resources and to ensure that our data are appropriately analyzed an presented accurately. In addition, this documentation establishes ProCare™ Research expectations regarding authorship acknowledgements and processes for publishing data.

Research Project Process

Data and/or Resource Requests

A written request must be submitted to the Research Advisory Committee using the Request for Data and / Resources form. The requests must include the following:

  • Nature of the research
    • Specific aims and study hypotheses
    • Brief statement of background and significance of the aims and hypotheses
    • What data is being requested
    • Methods of analyses statement
      • Definitions of main variables
      • Proposed methods of analyses
  • Lead investigator and all sub investigators
  • Contact person for research project (if different from lead investigator)
  • Sponsoring organization
  • The expected timeline to project completion
All parties associated with the written request must:
  • Sign the Request for Data and / Resources form
  • Sign a Confidentiality / Non disclosure agreement regarding the PRISM™ system if applicable
  • Send a curriculum vitae of the lead investigator
  • Send the proposal that has been written for funding, even if it has not been funded
  • Submit IRB approval where applicable
  • Materials are to be submitted to rrisko@procareresearch.com
  • Requests are not processed until all information is received
Research Advisory Committee (RAC) processes requests as follows:
  • Writen request and materials are received by RAC
  • RAC responds to the research contact with a timeline of whenthe request will be reviewed
  • RAC reviews and accepts / denies requests
    • Acceptance is prioritized according to RAC timelines and initiatives
  • RAC defines the budget for approved projects and informs research contact
  • Once associated fees are received, RAC begins processing per the established timelines and assigns a RAC member collaborator to the project
Authorship Acknowledgement

When providing data and services, ProCare™ Research expects its appropriate place in the authorship listings of any publishable works. The following are the expectations of ProCare™ Research regarding authorship acknowledgement:

  • RAC member collaborator - collaborator listed as a contributor to the project
  • RAC member(s) providing inut into projects - specific members listed as contributors
  • RAC member(s) providing resources to assist in the research and/or to contribute to writing a publishable paper - specific members listed as an author
