Research Advisory Committe (RAC) Purpose
The PRISM™ system provides data driven decision tools for the medical management of individuals with chronic pain conditions. The data base is dynamic and includes demographic, utilization and cost, and clinical outcome information on thousands of chronic pain patients.
The Research Advisory Committee advises on acceptance of studies and on study design. The RAC will provide oversight to study conduct and will analyze and approve publication and/or presentation of interim and final results.
Membership to the RAC is voluntary and by invitation. There is no compensation for RAC membership and/or participation.
The RAC acts in an advisory role to the ProCare™ Research executive team.
Objectives and Scope of Activities:
- Prioritize and recommend studies to support:
- Any number of new initiatives in healthcare such as Alternative Delivery Models (ACO’s, Medical Home), value-based payment reform
- Clinical effectiveness of treatment - Cost effectiveness of treatment
- Population-based studies to determine population at risk
- Development of evidence-based treatment guidelines
- Identify resources, including study lead, budget, and source of funding for studies
- Oversee study conduct, analyze and approve study results
- Secure publication/presentation opportunities
The RAC meets on a quarterly basis.
